LA FLECHA

We are in the middle of the Pampas plains, where the horizon extends 360 degrees. From this amplitude, the explorer’s journey emerges as a metaphor that makes surprise possible. Through searches in the territory, a daily training of the senses, and readings of philosophers, artists and adventurers, we expand our thoughts and perceptions to widen our creations. Strategies are proposed to create within a specific space and time, from the silence of speech and listening to the natural environment. An invitation to produce work in 250 hectares of open countryside, a spacious house and a shared work shed. The residencies in Capitán Sarmiento began in 2013 and, since then, have been held four times a year, once a season. They are part of the La Flecha project, a proposal that integrates workshops and art clinics in the city of Buenos Aires. Their work is conceived as a metaphor for creative action: the precise moment in which the artist looks, clears, directs and launches. His arrow takes a direction, in conjunction with the winds that cross it, and the work opens up.
